This Privacy Policy describes how MakeProSimp (“MakeProSimp”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when merchants install and use StoreDoctor AI (the “App”) on the Shopify platform. This Privacy Policy applies only to the Shopify version of StoreDoctor AI and does not apply to other MakeProSimp products, applications, or websites.
1. Scope
This policy applies exclusively to merchants using StoreDoctor AI through Shopify and to information processed through Shopify-authorized APIs. It does not govern Shopify’s own privacy practices.
2. Definitions
Merchant means the Shopify merchant who installs and uses the App. Store means the Shopify store associated with the Merchant. Customer Data means information relating to the Merchant’s customers that may be processed through Shopify APIs. Personal Data means information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Processing means collecting, storing, using, transmitting, deleting, or otherwise handling information. Services means the App and related support services provided by MakeProSimp. Applicable Law means privacy, consumer protection, and data protection laws applicable to the Merchant or MakeProSimp.
3. Information We Collect
Depending on the features used and the permissions granted through Shopify, we may collect or access: Merchant account information, including the store owner’s name, email address, phone number, and physical address; Shopify store identifiers and installation details; products, inventory, and collections; order history for the preceding 60 days; device and activity information, including IP address, browser, operating system, and approximate geolocation; app configuration, usage logs, diagnostics, and support communications. We collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide the functionality requested by the Merchant.
4. Shopify Permissions
The App accesses Shopify data only where the Merchant has granted permission through Shopify’s authorization process. Current permissions may include viewing products, inventory, and collections; viewing order history for the preceding 60 days; viewing store owner information; and viewing device and activity data. Merchants may revoke access by uninstalling the App or through Shopify where applicable.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to provide store analysis and diagnostic functionality; evaluate product, inventory, collection, and order information; generate recommendations and suggestions intended to improve store performance; maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App; analyze reliability and performance; respond to support requests; prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents; communicate important service updates; and comply with legal obligations.
6. AI-Assisted Analysis
StoreDoctor AI may use automated or AI-assisted systems to analyze authorized store information and generate recommendations. These outputs are intended to support the Merchant’s decision-making and may not always be complete, accurate, or suitable for every store. Merchants are responsible for reviewing recommendations before implementing them. We do not use Customer Data processed through the App to advertise to customers.
7. Legal Basis (GDPR/UK GDPR)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, processing is based on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where legally required.
8. Sharing Information
We may share information with cloud hosting providers, infrastructure providers, analytics and monitoring providers, customer support platforms, and professional advisers under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, systems, or the public. We do not sell merchant or customer personal information.
9. International Transfers
Where information is transferred internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms, where required by applicable law.
10. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill contractual and legal obligations, maintain security, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Following uninstallation, information that is no longer necessary is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period unless longer retention is required by law or necessary to protect our legal rights.
11. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, authentication, monitoring, backups, least-privilege access, and secure development practices. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
12. Merchant Responsibilities
Merchants are responsible for determining and complying with their obligations as data controllers or equivalent under applicable law, including providing required privacy notices, obtaining necessary consents, limiting access to authorized personnel, and responding to customer privacy requests where applicable.
13. Customer Data
The App does not independently collect or use customer personal information for its own advertising or marketing purposes. Where limited customer-related or order information is accessed through Shopify, it is processed only as necessary to provide the analysis and recommendations requested by the Merchant.
14. Cookies and Analytics
The App does not place cookies on merchants’ storefronts for its core functionality. Our website and App-related administrative services may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, analytics, diagnostics, security, and service performance.
15. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Requests may be submitted using the contact information below. We may take reasonable steps to verify a request before responding.
16. California Privacy Notice
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by applicable California law.
17. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for businesses and is not directed toward children under the age of 13, or such higher minimum age as required by applicable law in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
18. Third-Party Services
The App interacts with Shopify and may rely on infrastructure, analytics, monitoring, communications, and support providers necessary to operate the Services. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Changes to those services may affect certain App features.
19. Business Transfers
If MakeProSimp is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information covered by this Privacy Policy may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.
20. Compliance with Shopify
The App is designed to operate in accordance with Shopify’s applicable API terms, policies, and data-protection requirements. Where Shopify requires information to be processed, retained, or deleted in a particular manner, we will comply with those requirements.
21. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or platform rules. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Last Updated date.
